How it works
Press Start, speak, then press Stop. You can play the take back immediately or download it as a file. The microphone is only active while the red light shows; closing the tab stops it for good.
Start → speak → Stop → Play / Download
Tips
- Record in a quiet room a hand's width from the mic — closer beats louder.
- For long sessions record in parts; huge single takes eat memory.
- Everything runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

Frequently asked questions
Which format is the download?
Your browser’s native recording format (usually WebM with Opus, or MP4 on Safari). It plays in any modern browser or media player.
Why does the browser ask for microphone permission?
Recording needs your explicit permission. Beancuit only listens while you record and never sends audio anywhere.
Is there a time limit?
No fixed limit, but very long recordings use lots of memory. For interviews, record in parts.
