How it works
Enter a grade and the credits for each course. Each grade is converted to points on a 4.0 scale, weighted by its credits, and averaged to give your GPA.
GPA = Σ(points × credits) ÷ Σcredits

Frequently asked questions
How is GPA calculated?
Each grade becomes a point value on a 4.0 scale (A = 4.0, B = 3.0 and so on). Multiply each by its credits, add them up, and divide by the total credits.
What's the difference from the unweighted average?
The unweighted average treats every course equally. The weighted GPA gives more credit to courses with more credits, which is how most colleges compute it.
Is A+ worth more than A?
On a standard 4.0 scale both are 4.0, but some schools give A+ a higher value such as 4.3. Weighting and scales differ, so check your school's rules.
